2021 is the 73rd anniversary of the Nakba, when over 750,000 Palestinian were uprooted and forced to flee their homes driven out by Zionist militias during the creation of the state of Israel.
The forced removal of the Palestinian population did not end with Israel’s foundation in 1948. Israel continues to displace and exile the indigenous Palestinian population.
Despite the coronavirus crisis, more Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem had their homes demolished in the first 10 months of 2020 alone than in any full year since 2016. This month, hundreds of Palestinians in annexed East Jerusalem face attempts to evict them from their homes, part of Israel’s attempt to alter the demographic balance of the city.
With the complicity of the international community, the Nakba continues. That’s why we must act, NOW.
Join us on Saturday 15th May in Platt Fields Park. We will gather at the corner of the park closest the junction Platt Lane and Wilmslow Road rear Platt Hall (Art Gallery of Costumes).
Stand together for an end to Israel’s ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people, and for the right of return for Palestinians refugees!!
