For over 10 years, human rights experts, charities, and campaigning groups  including PSC  and War on Want have pushed JCB to own up to its contributions to the destruction and abuse of Palestinians’ human rights, and to immediately end sales to its sole Israeli distributor.  On 12th November 2021 it was confirmed in an official ruling from the UK National Contact Point, a government watchdog, that JCB’s business practices do violate human rights in that their machinery has been used in illegal activities. This is both the demolition of Palestinian homes and properties and the construction of settlements in the occupied West Bank, each of which are war crimes according to international law.

Having failed to stop misuse of the equipment it manufacture, the demand is for JCB to end sales of its equipment to Israel, and to cease all support for Israel’s demolitions of Palestinian homes, businesses, schools and communities.

See ICAHD UK and Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights for more information about the campaign, including the investigations against JCB.

The protest will assemble outside JCB’s head offices at 11 a.m. and will be handing in a letter to JCB’s owners and directors.
