The Big Ride 2017 – 4-6 August

The Big Ride 2017  starts on Friday (4th August). This year’s ride is a three days EVENT from Liverpool to Sheffield via Manchester and Bradford. Over 140 riders have registered.

On Friday the ride is from Liverpool to Manchester arriving late afternoon into Manchester. There will be a rally and reception at the Klondyke Club in Levenshulme starting at about 19:00.

If you would like to join the ride as it comes into Manchester, it should pass through Chorlton Green between 17:15 and 17:45. The ride will then  head for Albert Square via Upper Chorlton Road & Oxford Road before continuing  to the Klondyke Club via Oxford Road and Rusholme. It should pass through Rusholme between 18:15 & 18:45.

On Saturday the ride will leave  for Bradford from Plattfields park setting off shortly after 9:00.

The Big Ride is raising money for sports equipment for the rehabilitation of children in Gaza as part of a project with the Middle East Children’s Alliance and Dr Mona El-Farra, Vive President of the Red Cresent in Gaza. The Big Ride will be marking the third anniversary of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza in 2014, which killed 2,205 Palestinians including 547 children. This year is also the 50th anniversary of Israel’s military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza in 1967 and the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration.
