When

16th Jun 2025
7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Event Type

This Refugee Week, we invite you to a poignant screening of “Children of Shatila,” a powerful 1998 documentary directed by Palestinian filmmaker Mai Masri. Made in Beirut, the film delves into the lives of Palestinian refugees in the Shatila camp through the perspective of two children, Issa and Farah. It highlights their resilience in the face of war, poverty, and displacement, and their determination to preserve family and dreams. The film also touches upon the horrific Sabra-Shatila massacre of 1982.

As we observe Refugee Week (June 16th-22nd), this film resonates deeply, showing how “children in the refugee camp in Lebanon come to terms with the reality of being refugees – a state forced upon Palestinians to this day.” It’s an appropriate film for audiences interested in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and life in refugee camps.

Entry is free! Your attendance supports Palestine through donations collected on the night.
