All out this Saturday 7th June in commemoration of the Naksa, as we demand once again that Palestine be freed from Zionist colonisation! Meeting at 12pm, Piccadilly Gardens
Over 600 days and more than 86 weeks of genocide have passed. In Gaza, starvation is rife, massacres are a daily occurrence, and Israel is doing all it can to extinguish Palestinians in a thinly-veiled, violent land grab. In the West Bank, refugee camps are being gutted, Palestinians are being maimed and murdered by Israeli Forces, and generations are being thrown indefinitely into occupation cells.
The ongoing genocide in Gaza and brutal dispossessions across Occupied Palestine are an escalation of a pattern of behaviour employed by Israel since its illegitimate inception. We are witnessing the implementation of familiar tactics utilised by the regime day-in, day-out, decade after decade. For over a century, the Zionist settler-colonial project has systematically stolen as much Palestinian land as possible, eradicating the indigenous population in its bloodthirsty aim for control.
This week, we commemorate the 58th anniversary of the Naksa (“setback”); yet another notch on the timeline of Palestinian repression. Between 5th-10th June 1967, the Zionist regime consolidated its control of remaining Palestinian land following the Nakba in 1948. Israel seized the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, paving the way for the expansion of the colonial settlement enterprise.
Palestinian revolutionary Basel Al Araj emphasised that ‘…in times of extreme violence, there’s no room for nuanced politics, philosophical debates, or bourgeois humanism’. We do not seek to engage in debate or discussion about the nuances of colonisation; we seek to dismantle it by any and all available means.
We, in Britain, cannot possibly stand idly by whilst the British government has unashamedly empowered the Zionist regime to commit atrocities against Palestinians with unwavering impunity. We must not rest until every single tie to the settler-colonial entity has been severed, once and for all.
Join us on Saturday 7th June. 12pm. Piccadilly Gardens.
