Now, more than ever, there is a duty upon us to take action against the Zionist regime. Palestinians in Gaza are drowning in the blood of their people, who have been subjected to the most brutal genocide in modern history for almost 11 consecutive, relentless months.
One of the first haunting images that emerged during the Gaza genocide was that of a father carrying the limbs of his child in plastic bags. Now, we are witnessing Palestinians who have searched desperately for their missing loved ones, being given unidentifiable human remains in plastic bags categorised by weight, and told to bury these remains as their loved ones cannot be found. This is the nightmare that the Zionist regime has made into reality for Palestinians.
We need only look to our own high streets to see that fuel for soulless regimes is only a stone’s throw away here in Britain. The money trail starts here, behind the doors of profiteers who prioritise money over morality.
Our role is not to appease these corrupt profiteers. Our role is to hold them accountable; just as we have done with AXA, who recently divested from 3 major Israeli banks which fund the ongoing ethnic cleansing, violent dispossession and colonisation of Occupied Palestine.
AXA was forced to divest. We did not ask, we did not plead – we demanded that justice be served and succeeded by applying constant and continual pressure upon AXA until they succumbed. This is what happens when the people take unified action; this is how we best serve the Palestinian call for liberation.
We must continue to boycott, to call for divestments, to demand sanctions against every single complicit corporation funnelling money and power into the Zionist entity, until persecution is not profitable for them any longer. We must continue to rise up until Palestine is free, from the river to the sea.
So take action. Join us on Saturday 31st August, 12pm, St Peter’s Square
