On the Anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, the brutal genocide in Gaza and Israel’s latest and barbaric attempt to exterminate the north of Gaza, as well as the executions of Palestinians in the West Bank, continue with full impunity and collaboration from the British establishment!
107 years ago, on 2nd November 1917, Arthur Balfour (then-British Foreign Secretary) wrote a statement to the Zionist Federation on behalf of the British government declaring its support for the objective of establishing a ‘Jewish National home’ in Palestine, a land that was already inhabited and populated by the Palestinian natives.
Balfour pledged to pave the way for Zionist occupation of the land and marked the beginning of a pattern of ethnic cleansing and displacement of the Palestinian people.
Over 100 years on, the commemoration of the Balfour Declaration is a stark reminder that the Zionist settler-colonial project was in the works long before the Nakba in 1948, and Britain has played a vital part in the expansion of the colonial project.
Today Britain continues to support Israel in all its barbaric war crimes against the people of Palestine and beyond. For over 100 years the Palestinian people have been resisting colonisation and have become a catalyst for the world revolution everywhere!
Let us follow in their footsteps and fight to break the kill chain right here from the heart of the country that promised a land away that was not theirs to begin with!
Join us on Saturday 2nd November to demand an end to the genocide in Gaza, the brutal assault on Lebanon, and to denounce Britain’s decades-long complicity in the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians!
