Dr Mona El-Farra, director of projects for the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) in Gaza, has contact us with an emergency appeal for funds due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Hope you are all safe.
It is very important to help us in Gaza. The safest and quickest way is via MECA (Middle East Childrens Alliance) – “donate” at www.mecaforpeace.org/gaza-emergency . This will help us reach more impoverished families in Gaza with food and hygiene kits and to provide medicine and medical supplies to our partners with clinics and hospitals all over Gaza.
The situation in Gaza is dire.
- 34% of families are in abject poverty.
- 75% have no food security.
- 2000 at least are in quarantine.
- 10 cases of covid-19 are confirmed.
Please respond quickly.
Families are living hand to mouth, with no daily income and no way to survive at all, as Gaza will be under curfew to help prevent spread of the coronavirus.
MECA’s Gaza team and a hundred volunteers can move during the curfew to meet the needs of families. We will need protective gear for their safety too.
