Words cannot truly articulate the horrors Palestinians in Gaza have suffered over the last 24 hours. Yesterday evening, the Zionist regime targeted tents housing displaced Palestinians at Al-Aqsa Hospital with air strikes, engulfing the entire area in flames.
Graphic images and video footage of Palestinian men, women and children have emerged, recording them being burned alive in a brutal blaze. Due to the sheer intensity of Israel’s airstrikes and the consequential fire, those who bore witness to this atrocity could do nothing but watch the bodies burn and listen to the dying screeches.
This is what Zionism is. The settler-colonial poison of Zionism manifests itself in the burning flesh and suffering of Palestinians. The genocide in Gaza, a year-long genocide of a brutality never-before seen in modern history, simply would not continue were it not for the corrupt network of financial supporters Israel has established across the world.
BNY Mellon is a key player in that network. BNY Mellon invests over £10 million in Israel’s largest private weapons manufacturer, Elbit Systems, which provides 85% of Israel’s military drone fleet and land-based equipment. Simply put, Elbit Systems provides the very same weapons being used by Israel to incinerate Palestinians in Gaza and to slaughter thousands in Lebanon.
Israel will stop at nothing to continue its eradication, extermination and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Here in Britain, we must be fuelled by the anger of injustice. We must utilise this anger to sever the ties between Israel and the likes of BNY Mellon once and for all. We must call upon Britain to stop arming Israel!
