The Communities Scrutiny Committee of Manchester City Council will consider the Petition to Fly the Palestine Flag at their meeting at 2pm on Wednesday 11th February. (If you can attend arrive by 1.45pm).
Over 2,500 names were collected for the petition. SEE HERE Members of the public are welcome to observe the debate held by the committee of elected councillors.
The meeting will be webcast live. Mark Krantz, who initiated the petition, will get 5 minutes to present the case for flying the Palestine flag to the committee.
Further details will follow once the agenda is published. If you are able to attend go to the Scrutiny Committee Room which is on level 2 of the Town Hall extension. Public access to the committee room is over the bridge from level 2 of the old Town Hall building. (There is no public access from the Town Hall Extension.)
The Petition is that ‘Manchester City Council should fly the Palestinian flag, for one day above the Town Hall, as an expression of solidarity with over 400 children killed in Gaza.’
