Rae has been a CND Vice Chair for the past three years and Chair of Greater Manchester & District CND for 12 years. She is also founder member and Coordinator of the Campaign Against Depleted Uranium munitions (CADU) and Board member of the International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons (ICBUW). She is a regular contributor to many journals and newspapers throughout Britain.
