All out on Saturday 10th May at 12pm, Manchester Cathedral as we demand an end to the genocide in Gaza and call upon Booking.com to sever its ties to Israeli apartheid. Stop Gaza Genocide – Stop Booking Apartheid!
The genocide of Palestinians in Gaza knows no bounds to brutality. Israel, as ever, has continued to utilise every tactic possible over the last 19 months to maximise Palestinian suffering; constant bombardment, open-fire executions in the decimated streets, indefinite imprisonment in torturous conditions, and denial of food, water or medicine to a starved population. Daily slaughter by Israel has become an expected reality, as the number of documented martyrs reaches over 50,000 with countless more remain missing under the rubble.
Be it in Gaza or across the rest of Occupied Palestine, Israel is intent on expanding its settler-colonial project. Israel has been chipping away at Palestinian land and autonomy for 77 years; and it does so with the assistance of its established global network of profiteers, which includes the likes of Booking.com.
Booking.com offers properties for rent in illegal Israeli settlements built on stolen Palestinian land, as well as ‘activities’ available to those who visit the ‘Occupied Territories’, shamelessly presenting colonised land as a fun tourist destination. The violent expulsion of Palestinians paves the way for the establishment of illegal Israeli settlements. Not only does Booking.com financially support and profit from the establishment and expansion of such settlements, but it helps sustain and bolster them for its own economic gain.
Next week is the International Week of Action against Booking.com; an opportunity to make our demands crystal clear. We demand that Booking.com severs all ties to Israel immediately and permanently and stops profiting from the occupation of Palestinians. We must continue to pressure Booking.com through boycott action until these demands are met and the complicity comes to an end.
