All out in Manchester on Saturday, 15 March, 12pm, St. Peter’s Square.
The University of Manchester partners with genociders!
Amongst our many boycott campaigns here in the imperial core, students, staff and wider community members have been mobilising and taking action against the University of Manchester’s (UoM) ties to Israeli institutions and murder machinery.
Tel Aviv University (TAU) is one of those institutions. Since 2021, UoM holds a partnership in the form of joint research with TAU. While the call for applications was not open last year, UoM plans to reopen it this year, ignoring all of the atrocities we have seen Palestinians enduring at the hands of the Zionist entity, and our continued actions and demands for over 15 months.
Built on the stolen lands of Sheikh Mwaniss displaced in 1948, TAU has since its inception operated as an academic army base that enhances the capabilities of Israeli soldiers; a hub for setting Israeli agendas and policies against Palestinian and beyond; as a medium through which Zionism and Israeli colonialism
are normalised globally. This is the entity UoM deems a respected partner, an entity soaked in the blood of Palestinians.
Over 15 months of genocide on top of nearly 77 years of ethnic cleansing are clearly not worth cutting these ties for the UoM’s management. But we will not allow it to go on. Same as we have targeted all other complicit entities on our streets, UoM is yet another target that we will force into cutting ties with Israel. There is no going back, and we are as determined as ever to do what we can here for the sake of the Palestinian struggle for liberation.
As students and staff campaigners launch the research on TAU and its involvement in perpetuating Israeli crimes, and plan to take further actions against UoM’s complicity, we will take to the streets to say it loud and clear as a community: UoM must cut its deadly ties now!
So join us on Saturday, 15 March, 12pm, St. Peter’s Square.
