When

28th Nov 2024
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Where

Whitworth Building
University of Manchester, Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9PL

Event Type

Join the demonstration on Thursday 28th November at 12pm, meeting at Whitworth Arch on Oxford Road. For the workplace day of action, join us as staff & students from UoM & MMU rally alongside community members, for Palestine, united against Scholasticide!

Scholasticide – coined by Palestinian academic Dr Karma Nabulsi – is the constant and systematic destruction to total annihilation of education by Israel’s settler colonialism. That includes the bombing and destruction of schools, universities & all education facilities at all levels, as well as the assassination, incarceration, targeting, harassment, physical and psychic intentional harm of scholars and students.

We will gather together to call on UoM & MMU to divest from arms companies, demilitarise research & education, and cut ties with Tel Aviv University & Hebrew University of Jerusalem. On this day, and every day thereafter, we heed the call from Palestinians to stand in solidarity with them, keep taking action and putting pressure on our institutions to end its complicity in the Israeli genocide & scholasticide of Palestinians!

We will keep fighting until our institutions listen to our demands and until Palestine is free!

Join us Thursday 28th at 12pm, Whitworth Arch, Oxford Rd!
