Join us for an inspiring evening featuring two powerful short films from Palestine: The Present and Gaza – One Football, One Leg.
The Present (dir. Farah Nabulsi) tells the moving story of a father and daughter navigating the challenges of daily life under occupation, as they attempt to buy a simple gift. This award-winning film shines a light on the human cost of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Gaza – One Football, One Leg follows the journey of an amputee football team in Gaza, focusing on their resilience and the spirit of the players who refuse to let their injuries define them. After the screening, we are thrilled to offer a live Q&A (internet allowing) with Khaled Al Mabhouh, one of the stars of the film and a football coach for the amputee team.
This film night will be a unique opportunity to engage with these powerful stories and hear firsthand from Khaled Al Mabhouh about the struggles and triumphs of life in Gaza. Don’t miss this chance to learn more about Palestine, football, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Please arrive by 6:30 PM to ensure seating and a smooth check-in. The event will start promptly at 7:00 PM.
