PUBLIC MEETING:  10 YEARS OF BDS –  SPEAKER: MICHAEL DEAS (BNC).

Michael Deas is the coordinator in Europe with the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC), the Palestinian civil society coalition that acts as the Palestinian reference of the movement for boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it complies with international law.

In 2005, Palestinian civil society issued a call for a campaign of boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it complies with international law and Palestinian rights. A truly global movement against Israeli Apartheid is rapidly emerging in response to this call.BDS logo

In this 10th anniversary year of the BDS call, Michael Deas of the BNC (BDS National Committee) will talk about the numerous successes in that period (Veolia, Barclays, G4S, Stephen Hawking endorsing the academic boycott of Israeli institutions, Lauryn Hill cancelling concert in Israel), and reflect on how to maintain and build on these successes for the future.
