All out in Manchester, students and wider community, on Friday 11 October, at the University of Manchester, 2pm, Whitworth Arch. We will be joined by Mandla Mandela (Nelson’s Mandela’s grandson), a hero of South Africa, to demand the university cuts its ties with Genocidal Israel!
After a year of an ongoing genocide, and with expansion of Israel’s terror across the region, we remain steadfast in our struggle to cut any tie Britain and its institutions have with the Zionist entity. The University of Manchester is one of those institutions still insisting on maintaining ties to Israeli academic institutions and the deadly arms industry, in spite of students and staff’s continued demands the university ends its complicity in the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
We are honoured to have Mandla Mandela join our demonstration. It is an honour to stand alongside those that fought injustices and know what it is like to live under the brutal racial domination of white supremacy, exploitation and apartheid. Palestinians, like black people in South Africa and millions of oppressed peoples across the world share the dream of living with freedom and dignity, and ridding this universe of imperialism, colonialism and capitalism once and for all.
Same as students and staff forced UoM to cut its ties with apartheid South Africa, we will do the same until it cuts ties with apartheid settler-colonial Israel. We will stand with heroes from the South African struggle to expose UoM’s hypocrisy, and take action against its participation in the suffering of Palestinians.
We are inspired by the spirits of those resisting for justice in Palestine and beyond, and with our global solidarity we will rise victorious against all oppressive systems. So join our demonstration on Friday, 11 October, 2pm, Whitworth Arch, Oxford Road M13 9PL.
