All out in Manchester on Saturday, 17 May, 12pm, Piccadilly Gardens. 77 years of ongoing Nakba. Resistance until return!

On 15 May, we will commemorate 77 years of Nakba, when Zionist militias forcibly displaced over 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and destroyed over 531 villages, to establish the Israeli state. Until today, Palestinian refugees are still holding the keys to return to their homeland.

Since 1948, Palestinians have had to suffer the presence of a brutal occupier on their land, devouring more towns and villages, fragmenting the people and crushing any possibility of a dignified life. Since its inception, the Zionist state has meant racial domination, forced displacement, torture, imprisonment, siege, apartheid and endless crimes.

For the second year in a row, Palestinians commemorate the Nakba in what Israelis are calling the “final solution” for Palestinians: a genocide, with Gaza facing the biggest brunt of Zionist savagery. Palestinians commemorate the Nakba as they count more dead bodies, all while the IOF is emptying the West Bank refugee camps of their residents.

Whether slow or expedited, erasure of Palestinians has been a main objective of Israel, one that Palestinians have fiercely resisted for decades. Palestinians were never just passive victims, but have also been a symbol of resistance for all oppressed masses, fighting for justice and liberation.

We commemorate the Nakba in the place that has paved the way for the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. It was Britain’s promise to the Zionist movement, and its crushing of Palestinian resistance in the 1930s that facilitated the establishment of the Israeli settler-colonial state. This active participation in Palestinian suffering continues to this day with the further support and arming of Israel.

This makes our voices and actions here even more crucial. So join us on Saturday to reaffirm our commitment to the return of the Palestinians and the liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea.
