MANCHESTER EMERGENCY DEMONSTRATION WEDNESDAY 1ST APRIL – ST PETER’S SQUARE – 6:30PM

All out tomorrow in Manchester to denounce Israel’s new execution law and to demand the release of all Palestinian political prisoners! Meeting at 6:30pm in St Peter’s Square!

Continuing its founding principle of murdering every Palestinian by any means possible, yesterday the Israeli Knesset voted, 62 to 48, to introduce a death penalty law exclusively for use against Palestinians. It will be in effect in 30 days throughout any area Israel occupies, including the West Bank and Gaza.

The law, unsurprisingly, does not apply to Israelis, and is yet another settler-colonial tool to be utilised by the Zionist regime to extinguish Palestinians. The long-standing precedent set by the Israeli military court is a clear indication of what is to come. The conviction rate in the Israeli military court, which exclusively tries Palestinians, is 99.74%. We will watch on as children, such as Ahmad Manasra who was liberated last year after 10 years in Israeli prisons, are shamelessly executed by way of this barely veiled genocidal tactic.

For decades, Israel has flitted between ignoring legality, humanity and morality to slaughter Palestinians at whim on one hand, and on the other, warping, weaponising and tailoring so-called legislative frameworks to ensure the continued subjugation of Palestinians as well as to uphold Jewish supremacy. It is clear that the regime is taking unfathomable measures to formalise false legal justification for the execution of Palestinians. This ruling is truly the worst manifestation of apartheid in history.

The barbarity we see from Israel, horrifying in its blatant impunity, is in no small part due to the unfettered flow of arms to Israel from the British government and war profiteers across Britain. As ‘condemnations’ of direct action taken against Israel here in Britain are banded about and dissent is continuously suppressed, Britain continues to fund this savagery. We cannot stay silent.

All out tomorrow in Manchester; let our voices echo throughout the streets. Free all Palestinian prisoners! Stop the death penalty law! Stop arming Israel!
