About This Event
“In every word, a witness. In every poem, resistance. In every heart, Palestine.”
For over a century, the Palestinian struggle for liberation has been documented not just in the historical record, but in the verses of its poets. Words have been our refuge, our weapons against erasure, and our blueprints for a free tomorrow.
Join the Greater Manchester Friends of Palestine for a profound evening dedicated to the power of the spoken word. Sharing Poems for Palestine is a gathering of community, culture, and unyielding solidarity. Whether you are a lifelong advocate or newly awakened to the Palestinian cause, this space is for you to listen, share, and stand witness.
Featuring Dr Khawla Badwan
We are deeply honoured to welcome Palestinian academic and poet Dr Khawla Badwan. Her insights and verses will anchor our evening, providing an authentic connection to the academic and cultural lifeblood of Palestine that persists despite ongoing attempts at erasure.
Open Mic: Share Your Voice
We invite you to be part of the programme. Bring a favourite poem by a Palestinian writer, or share original verses you have written in solidarity with Palestine.

A Purpose-Driven Gathering
