Months into the one-sided ceasefire agreement, Palestinians in Gaza are still being slaughtered by the Israeli regime and the dire conditions it has deliberately caused. Hospitals are low on fuel, missing key supplies and equipment and understaffed amidst a constant stream of patients, Palestinians are still suffering. Thousands of health workers have been killed or imprisoned – including Dr.Hussam Abu Safiya, who has been detained by Israel for over a year. This is all while key supplies are unavailable, blocked from entry, leaving thousands in danger of deterioration and death.

Israel targets Gaza’s healthcare system with genocidal intent. By destroying all means of treatment, murdering health workers, bombing hospitals and attacking ambulances and civil rescue teams, it seeks the enclave’s societal collapse in order to maximise destruction and death – a blatant act of genocide.

Palestinian healthcare workers are the backbone of Gaza. They turn up, unpaid, working day and night amidst harsh conditions, facing the threat of death, injury or being taken hostage by Israel. This was the case of Dr. Adnan al-Bursh, who was tortured to death in Israeli detention.

In Britain, healthcare has been intentionally denied to the hunger strikers in blatant violation of their rights, an indictment of the state’s dehumanising policies and crackdown on anti-genocide protest.

In face of these atrocities, the people of Manchester must rise up in total solidarity with Palestinian health workers and the people of Gaza, to demand justice and freedom, and assert that we reject the State’s attacks on our noble movement and will only keep getting louder.

So join us at Piccadilly Gardens, at 12 PM on Saturday, January 3rd!
