All out for the regional demonstration in Manchester on 31 May, 12pm, St. Peter’s Square. 600 days of genocide. 10 weeks of Israel’s starvation and blockade. Full arms embargo now!

600 is the number of days Gaza has been under genocide. However, numeric figures do not capture the amount of suffering people are having to endure under the earth shattering crimes against humanity that the Zionist regime is committing in its campaign of annihilation.

What we thought was unimaginable during the first weeks of the genocide has now further escalated. The scenes and stories emerging from Gaza are impossible to describe in our existing dictionaries. Not only has the Israeli occupation destroyed everything in sight, but for more than 10 weeks it has been blocking aid from entering, slowly killing those that survived the bombings and massacres through deliberate starvation. This depravity was not enough, for even when it allowed a very tiny amount of aid to enter during the past week it opened fire at volunteers tasked with distributing it to the people.

This Israeli murder machinery would not be able to operate without the backing of Britain. Complicity is not enough the describe this support. It is active participation in genocide. We won’t be appeased by the British government’s latest decisions. Terminating trade is meaningless without a total arms embargo on Israel, and this is our unwavering demand!

We cannot normalise this sickening reality nor turn a blind eye, and we surely must not despair! For as long as it takes we will mobilise to the streets, organise and take action in support of the Palestinian people and their rightful struggle against a brutal and bloodthirsty colonial entity. It is the bare minimum we can do after 20 months of genocide on top of 77 years of ethnic cleansing. So join our regional demonstration on 31 May, 12pm, St Peters Square, Manchester.
