Join the Palestine Bloc in Manchester International Workers’ Day march on Sunday, 3rd May, 11am, Holt Town Tram Stop M40 7FQ, followed by events and speakers (including from the Palestine movement) in the Mechanics Institute.
Palestinian workers are a central pillar of the struggle for liberation. Exploited, tortured and humiliated by the Israeli occupation, workers embody the Palestinian experience, and in their legacy of defiance they also embody its revolutionary spirit.
The attacks on Palestinian workers and livelihood at the hands of the Zionist entity have been ongoing since before 1948. In the last two and a half years, they have further escalated during the genocide in Gaza and the increasing attacks on Palestinian lives and lands in the West Bank and across all of Palestine.
Palestinians are being prevented from going to work or finding jobs, and are being detained or shot whilst on their search for a living. For decades, Israel has kept the Palestinians under a condition of economic subordination and captivity.
Palestinian workers have also shown immense amounts of resilience, taking part in all forms of resistance, including strikes. Since the 1930s and until today, workers have used their power to disrupt the colonial apparatus and stop Zionist expansion on their lands. For over two years we witnessed the workers in Gaza, who in spite of knowing they are risking their lives have refused to abandon their people facing Israel’s genocidal machinery.
Not only has Britain facilitated the establishment of the Israeli colonial project in Palestine, but until today it continues to arm Israel, choosing imperialist interests over the welfare of its citizens. It also criminalises and silences citizens for taking action against genocide.
In the spirit of solidarity, Palestinians have called on workers of the world to take action for Palestine, a solidarity that must continue until Palestine is free!
Palestine is the site of struggle against imperialism and global capitalism. It is a fight against militarism, corporatism and oppression, therefore it is a fight for worldwide emancipation. So join the Palestine bloc on 3rd May!
