Join the rally and stall in Manchester on Thursday 19th February to call upon the masses to boycott Reebok and demand Israel be kicked out of FIFA!
Meeting at: Market Street (Outside Tesco), 1pm!
Last year, Reebok signed a sponsorship agreement with the Israeli Football Association (IFA), amidst a brutal, live-streamed genocide of unfathomable horror committed by Israel in Gaza. Despite Israel having killed over 72,000 known Palestinians since October 2023, at least 900 being athletes and footballers, and having destroyed most sports facilities in Gaza, Reebok has still maintained its role as IFA sponsor.
Israel is currently expanding its settler-colonial project on the largest scale since its illegitimate creation. The West Bank is being eradicated, and Israel has declared that it will seize land from Palestinians who cannot ‘prove ownership’. Reebok has aligned itself with a regime that commits these crimes daily; a regime which hosts official football matches in illegal settlements in the West Bank; a regime which has used stadiums in Gaza as torture camps and detention facilities. FIFA, in refusing to ban Israel from competing, is endorsing genocidal Israel and its abhorrent actions.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has publicly denounced global silence on the genocide and Palestinian suffering. In his rejection of neutrality, he echoes the sentiment of footballing legend Eric Cantona, who has stood strong in his solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Some may claim that sport is no place for politics. However, when global brands like Reebok actively profit from occupation through contracts with Israeli associations, and when FIFA, UEFA and the International Olympic Committee still permit Israel to participate in their competitions, there is no doubt that the sport is, in fact, political.
We cannot remain silent. We must break these links to genocidal Israel once and for all. Join us at 1pm on Market Street (Outside Tesco), Manchester, Thursday 19th February!
