Remembering and Honouring the Palestinians Martyred in 2024
Meeting at Dr Adnan Al-Bursh Park (formerly Brunswick Park) 11:00pm
Over 45,000 Palestinian martyrs have been documented over the course of the genocide in Gaza, which has been ongoing relentlessly since October 2023. This is not to mention the tens of thousands missing under the rubble.
Yet again, Palestinians will be entering the New Year whilst being bombarded, being suffocated by Zionist blockade, suffering denial of food, water and medical treatment, or being tortured and brutalised whilst held in detention.
Last year, we gathered to call for an end to this abhorrent genocide, which had been going on for 84 days at the time with over 20,000 killed. Tomorrow, 451 days will have passed with over double the number of dead. Every single one of those days, without fail, has increasingly entailed massacres, bloodshed, death and destruction.
Every martyr had a life; a life worth living and preserving. Their deaths mean more than to be reduced to mere statistics; they represent an end to hopes, dreams and possibilities. Over 20,000 children stripped of their childhoods, of their futures. Aspirations of a besieged population violently cut short by genocide.
We must not let the passage of time numb the urgency of our demand. Palestinians in Gaza and across the rest of Occupied Palestine, more than ever, require us to continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with them as they fight for freedom from the Zionist regime. It is our duty, here in complicit Britain, to stand up for what is right.
Join us this New Year’s Eve to commemorate and honour the Palestinian martyrs killed by Israel in 2024. Meeting at 11pm, Dr Adnan Al-Bursh Park (formerly known as Brunswick Park).
