The geography changes, but the struggle remains the same.
We have just marked Yawm al-Ard (Land Day), remembering those who stood against the theft of their homes in 1976. This Wednesday, we carry their legacy to the streets of South Manchester. The occupation relies on our silence to continue its genocide in Gaza, but Whalley Range refuses to be quiet.
Look at the banners: “HONK YOUR HORN FOR GAZA.” We are turning a busy Manchester commute into a daily disruption. Every honk is a crack in the normalisation of ethnic cleansing. Every flag raised is a testament to our Sumud (steadfastness). Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth time, your presence at the crossroads is a vital thread in the fabric of Palestinian resistance.
