Join the demonstration in Manchester on Saturday, 24 October, 12pm, Albert Square!
Whilst politicians in Britain debate the meaning of Zionism, we have only to hear the testimonies of Palestinians to know its true definition and intent.
Zionism’s very foundations have been built brick by brick through ethnic cleansing and the destruction of Palestinian life. It was created on a premise of not only racism, but genocide and the elimination of Palestinians. And it has been reinforced by the military and ideological support of Western imperialism.
Look no further than the flame-engulfed tents and rubble of Gaza City, set ablaze by unceasing Israeli strikes, which this week martyred Reem Asaad Awad, orphaning her 2 year old daughter Maryam Ahmed Ghanem.
Or to the burning olive trees of Ramallah in the West Bank, where Palestinians are being violently driven from their homes, their livestock slaughtered and ancestral homeland devastated by illegal Zionist settlers.
Or to the brutal attacks on Syria and the continued bombardment and assaults on the south of Lebanon, leaving hundreds of thousands displaced.
It is beyond a doubt that terror, genocide and ethnic cleansing are the building blocks of Zionism’s very foundation, at the core of its very existence. But these foundations are not tenable. We will not stop, we will not rest, we will not sit back and witness the continuation of ethnic cleansing and genocidal destruction. Not whilst Palestinians continue to resist Israeli occupation on the ground and Britain continues to send arms to Israel.
Join us, Saturday 24th October at 12PM in Albert Square. Until Palestine is free from Zionism, from the river to the sea.
