All out in Manchester on Wednesday, 22 October, outside Allianz offices to demand it divests from Elbit Systems! 12pm, 1 Oxford Road, M1 4PB.
It has been two years of the most atrocious and unimaginable crimes committed in modern history. Gaza is in ruins. More than 39,000 families have been completely erased, 9500 people are still missing or under the rubble, 170,000 are injured, and 288,000 families have no shelter.
Israel’s bloodthirsty nature knows no bounds. Although a ceasefire deal was reached a week ago, Israel is continuing its brutality, and has so far violated the ceasefire 47 times, refusing to open crossings, blocking aid, bombing and killing dozens each day.
This is accompanied by the daily assaults by settlers and army in the West Bank, and continued forced displacement and ethnic cleansing across all of colonised Palestine.
The Zionist regime’s monstrous and barbaric acts are enabled by a global chain of war mongers and profiteers, and Allianz Insurance is one of them.
Allianz invests in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest private arms manufacturer, and provides Employers Liability Insurance to Elbit Systems UK, without which Elbit wouldn’t be able to conduct its murderous operations and build the drones and weapons that have turned Palestinians’ lives into a nightmare.
What we owe to all Palestinian martyrs and to the besieged Gaza that has lost so much, is to refuse to accept the status-quo whereby imperial and colonial ambitions enabled by profit and greed are allowed to decimate entire populations. We should refuse to accept the idea that weapons and technology are used to reduce people to mere figures and disposable bodies.
Our duty remains the same: to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for justice and liberation. This solidarity means going to the doorstep of those actively participating in mass murder and destruction. So join us on Wednesday, 22 October, 12pm, outside Allianz offices. 1 Oxford Street, M1 4PB.
