Palestinian Prisoners' Day!

Event Type

All out Friday 17th April in Manchester to commemorate Palestinian Prisoners’ Day! Meeting at 6pm St. Peter’s Square.

Prisoners’ Day is commemorated each year as a national tribute to prisoners and their sacrifices, and as a call to action against the grave injustices imposed against them and their families.

Palestinian prisoners are at the forefront of Israel’s brutal designs, subject to unfathomable torment whose goal is to debilitate an entire society, and to liquidate even the yearning for freedom.

At least 9,600 prisoners, including 350 children, are confined under barbarically cruel conditions: solitary confinement, systematic starvation, deliberate medical neglect, the denial of access to legal representation, severe beatings, rape.

Half of them are held without even the pretense of a charge or a trial in kangaroo courts, where being guilty is to be Palestinian.

Before being killed, Dr. Adnan al-Bursh was beaten so severely that he could no longer walk. Walid Ahmed, who in 2025 became the first Palestinian child to ever die inside Israeli prisons, was murdered through a combination of starvation and medical neglect. 18-month-old Jawad was returned to his family from detention with cigarette burns to his legs!

And yet, Israel’s sadism only ever descends to even greater depths, as it introduces a death penalty law – exclusively against Palestinians. Just as in Gaza, not even children will be spared from murder under this so-called “legislation”, which merely formalises the existing reality under Zionism – that Palestinians in their entirety can be killed at will.

We reject this premise entirely and unapologetically. We denounce the notion that Palestinians have anything other than the right to resist their occupation, and the right to a free homeland.

Our demands starts here at home: governed by a state that facilitates Israeli criminality through arms, trade, and political cover, and filled with corporations that profit from occupation.

So all out on Friday!
